Debbie has worked in the health and social care field in the UK for the past 32 years. She originally trained as a generic social worker, going on to gain broad skills and invaluable experience as a practicing social worker in local authority settings and within multi disciplinary partnerships arrangements. Since 2002 Debbie has worked as an independent Social Worker and Manager.
Special Skills and Interests
Debbie has extensive management experience at team and service manager levels in adult social care, including older people, younger people with physical disabilities and learning disability services. Included in this is a extensive experience in managing Safeguarding services. Debbie has remained committed to working in partnership to raise colleagues’ expectations of what is achievable in the design and delivery of high quality services and outcomes.
Debbie is a motivated and resourceful manager with a proven record of accomplishments and positive results. During assignments she ensures that she maintains high visibility and is supportive to the staff group she is working with; adopting a mentoring and coaching style of leadership and management.
Debbie’s particular interests are in translating strategic aims into operational services, supporting staff through organisational change, maximising staff confidence and potential. As part of this Debbie maintains the importance of transparently addressing areas of poor or under performing practice.
Debbie strongly subscribes to supporting ethical management and leadership which she believes helps achieve sustainable, productive and competent practice, and an organisational culture with behaviours that seeks to maximise staff potential, as well and valuing staff who take personal and professional responsibility in their practice.
