Career Synopsis

Helena is a qualified social worker and became an independent consultant and trainer in 1997.

Helena is well regarded as a self-motivated, committed and professional senior adult social care consultant and trainer. She has extensive experience within the statutory and independent sector of staff management, project based consultancy, training and interim management of operational services. With a sound knowledge base within the social care sector, her skills include research, the designing and delivering of training modules, detailed analysis, investigation, and assessment.

Helena has a background in health based social work and has worked in a number of diverse local authority settings; carrying out organisational reviews, and projects related to eligibility implementation, assessment and care and support planning. Four around ten years Helena’s work has centred on personalisation. She has assisted councils with its implementation through training programmes, chairing a Policies and Procedures sub group of the Transformation Board, running a Champions Groups and mentoring and has assisted a number of authorities with their transition. In one, delivering all training to over 500 staff and in another acting as a Change Manager. Helena also has experience in working with local authorities in their revision of Adult Social Care operational policies and considering practice and workforce development implications arising from changes in Legislation, Policy and Guidance.
